Marcus Atilius Regulus was an important Roman politician during the Second Punic War .

His father of the same name died in Carthaginian captivity during the First Punic War , his brother Gaius fell as consul in 225 BC. In the battle of Telamon against the Celts . The first consulate was held by Marcus Atilius Regulus together with Publius Valerius Flaccus in 227 BC.
