Marcus "Max" Jung (born March 4, 1969 in Andernach ) is a German sports journalist and sports manager . He is head of "Communication & Media" at the German first division soccer club Hertha BSC .

Life

Max Jung was active as a player at SpVgg in the 1990s . EGC Wirges in the Oberliga Südwest , SC Brück in the Oberliga Nordrhein , at SCB Preußen Köln in the Regionalliga West and at the end of the 1990s captain of TuS Mayen in the Oberliga Südwest.

As a football coach , Jung obtained the DFB's A license in 1995. As the coach of the German national student team, he is regularly on the road for the DFB.

He studied sports science he joined as a graduate - PE teacher successfully. Max Jung's career as a sports journalist began in the editorial team of the sports show as a freelancer for WDR . In 1994 he moved to the sports department of RTL Television . Five years later Max Jung was employed by Premiere AG . At the media group, later renamed Sky Germany, he became the football editor-in-chief. He also worked there as an interviewer, commentator and editor. At the soccer world championship 2002 , soccer world championship 2006 and soccer world championship 2010 he was the responsible editor for the German national soccer team . Jung gave up the office of soccer director at Sky Germany in June 2011 and became a broadcast manager.

In July 2012 he left Sky and became director for media and communication at VfB Stuttgart . On September 1, 2014, Jung took over the sports division as director together with Jochen Schneider . After leaving VfB Stuttgart, he successfully studied sports management at the University of St. Gallen . He then became a consultant for media and public relations. In September 2016 he took over the "Communication & Media Department" at the first division soccer club Hertha BSC.
