Marcus Kretschmann

Marcus Kretschmann (* 1971 in Erfelden ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been the mayor of Riedstadt since April 2017 .

Life

Kretschmann is a graduate in administration. He worked in various positions in the Hessian police. Most recently he was a service group leader, train driver and trainer as well as lecturer for practical topics at the Hessian University for Police and Administration in Wiesbaden . In 2013 he finished the police service and became head of the public order office in the city administration of Gernsheim .

Kretschmann is married and has two sons.

Mayor of Riedstadt

In the mayoral election in Riedstadt 2016 he achieved first place with 43.8% on November 6th and prevailed against the opposing candidate of the SPD with 62.3% in the runoff election on November 27th . He replaced the previous mayor Werner Amend on April 4, 2017. He is the first CDU mayor of the town for more than 40 years.
