Marcus Schlichting
Marcus Schlichting (born November 7, 1804 in Stiesholz , fishing ; † March 6, 1875 in Kiel ) was a German teacher , author and politician .
Life
Schlichting attended the seminar in Tondern and then worked as a teacher in the Flensburg office . From 1832 he was an employee of the Kiel pastor Claus Harms and head of the main boys' school in the suburb of Kiel.
After the Schleswig-Holstein survey he was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state assembly and from 1867 to 1870 a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . From 1848 to 1852 he was editor of the university and school newspaper together with Gustav Ferdinand Thaulow .
Honors
Because of his educational and political achievements, a street in Kiel was named after Schlichting from 1898 to 1978. His grave of honor is located in the south cemetery in Kiel .
