Marek Szerszyński

Marek Szerszyński (born October 8, 1960 in Gruczno ) is a former Polish cyclist .

Athletic career

In 1985 and 1986 he competed at the UCI Road World Championships and was classified 20th ( 1985 ) and 46th ( 1986 ). He took part in the International Peace Tour three times and was 26th in 1985 , 14th in 1986 and 25th in 1987. He came 2nd behind Sławomir Krawczyk in 1984 in the Dookola Mazowska Tour .

From 1989 to 1993 he was active as a professional driver. In 1989 he became a member of the first professional Polish cycling team Exbud Kielce . In 1990 he was second behind Zenon Jaskuła at the first Polish professional championship . He competed three times in the UCI Road World Championships for professionals, his best result being 13th in 1990 .

Szerszyński rode the Tour de France 1993 (eliminated), the Giro d'Italia 1991 (48th) and 1992 (60th), as well as the Vuelta a España 1993 (83rd). He started for the Italian team Lampre on all tours .
