Marfa Girl is a drama of Larry Clark , published on its website. The film is about the life of a group in the city of Marfa , Texas. The film won the Marcus Aurelius Prize for Best Film at the Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma 2012.

The sequel, Marfa Girl 2 , hit theaters in 2018.

Marfa Girl deals with the days around the 16th birthday of the boy Adam. The film is about his relationships with the other residents of the small town in Texas. It is about his relationship with his 16-year-old girlfriend Inez, his 23-year-old neighbor Donna, who tries to seduce him as a present for his 16th birthday, his teacher, who likes to chastise him, and a newly arrived artist who does too tries to sleep with him.

A side story revolves around Tom, a mentally unstable border police officer who develops an obsession with Adam's mother. The film is also about Adam's girlfriend and him.

Marfa Girl was shot entirely in Marfa , a small town in Presidio County , Texas . The film Giants was shot in the city as early as 1956 , which was also the last film with James Dean as an actor. Larry Clark used a mix of professional and amateur actors in the film.

Marfa Girl premiered at the Rome Film Festival 2012 and won awards there. On November 20, 2012, "Marfa Girl" was released and discontinued on Larry Clark's website for $ 5.99 for 24 hour streaming. There are no plans to bring the film to theaters or to release it on DVD. Larry Clark said that exclusive online publishing was chosen to bypass Hollywood. Larry Clark's previous films, including Ken Park , have had distribution difficulties because of the issues they cover.
