Marga Minco (* 31 March 1920 in Ginneken , Breda as Sara Menco ) is a Dutch writer and journalist .

biography

Marga Minco is the youngest and only survivor of the arrests and deportations of a Jewish family with three children. From 1950, Dutch newspapers published their novellas, which were shaped by their lived experience. Your work mentions the drama of those Dutch Jews who were persecuted during the Second World War. In addition to novels and short stories, she has also published books for children and scenarios for television. Her work has been translated into twenty languages ​​(including English, German, Hebrew and Scandinavian languages). In 1958 she received the Vijverbergprijs for Het bittere kruid , the Annie Romeinprijs in 1999 , the Constantijn Huygens Prize in 2005 and the PC Hooft Prize in 2019 .

Her great uncle was the Dutch resistance fighter and local politician Bill Minco .
