Kees Van Oostrum

Kees Van Oostrum (born July 5, 1953 in Amsterdam , Netherlands ) is a Dutch cameraman and film director .

Life

Kees Van Oostrum grew up in Amsterdam and studied from 1972 to 1976 at the Nederlandse Film en Televisie Academie . After an excellent graduation, he received a scholarship to study at the American Film Institute from 1977 to 1979 . The 40-minute drama Nights at O'Rear’s appeared as early as 1980 , in which Van Oostrum worked independently as a cameraman. Van Oostrum then mainly worked for television and made films such as Gettysburg , Thinner - The Curse and Courage to Love . His work as a cameraman includes more than 70 film and television productions. As a director, he staged individual episodes of various television series, as well as two feature films.

He has been a member of the American Society of Cinematographers since 1993, and was elected President of the ASC in 2016.
