Drive Me Crazy is an American comedy film from the year 1999 . The plot is based on the novel "How I Created My Perfect Prom Date" by Todd Strasser . The main roles were played by Melissa Joan Hart and Adrian Grenier .

action

The fashion-conscious Nicole Maris and the half-orphan Chase Hammond both go to Timothy Zonin High School and are neighbors too. They become alienated as they develop different interests. Nicole's boyfriend is an athlete, Chase's girlfriend is interested in politics.

When Maris and Hammond are dumped by their partners, they decide to go out together to make them jealous. Later they find each other attractive and become a couple.

Reviews

James Berardinelli wrote on ReelViews that he was able to enjoy parts of the film and praised the direction by John Schultz. He attested that actress Melissa Joan Hart had some charm and charisma, he found her portrayal acceptable, but wondered why she was so popular.

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times of October 4, 1999 that the characters in the film were more intelligent and that the dialogue was better written than in comparable teenage comedies. He didn't think the film was great overall, but "nice".

Melissa Joan Hart won the Kids' Choice Award in 2000.
