Margaret Ladd (born November 8, 1942 in Providence , Rhode Island ) is an American actress .

life and career

Margaret Ladd's interest in acting and the arts was aroused early on by her music-loving parents. After graduating from Band College in New York City, she starred in the production of The Knack . This was followed by some productions on Broadway, including My sweet Charlie and The Fox . She made her television debut in 1964 in the television series A Flame in the Wind and played the role of Jane Skerba in this until 1965 . This was followed by the films The Friends of Eddie Coyle , A Wedding , The Great Magic and Wale in August . She also starred in guest shows such as Hotel and Quincy . She achieved great fame through the series Falcon Crest , where she played Emma Channing from 1981 to 1989 . In 1986 she received the Soap Opera Digest Award for her role.

Since then, Margaret Ladd has been quiet. She was most recently seen in the series Reasonable Doubts and in the web series Mozart in the Jungle in a supporting role. Margaret Ladd has been married to the author Lyle Kessler since 1977 and the couple have twins. With Jane Wyman , in Falcon Crest plays her mother, she was in private until her death in 2007 a close friend.
