Margarete Götz

Margarete Götz (born February 19, 1951 in Wallenfels ) is a German educator and university teacher .

Life

From 1971 to 1974 Götz studied teaching at elementary schools at the Würzburg University of Education , from 1974 onwards education, psychology and sociology at the University of Würzburg . She completed her studies in 1978 as a qualified pedagogue. Then she was in primary school until 1982 before she worked as a research assistant at the chair for elementary school didactics at the University of Würzburg. There, in 1989 their promotion to Dr. phil. with the dissertation The local history as reflected in the curriculum of the Weimar Republic. From 1990 to 1994 she was a research assistant at the same chair, before she worked as a substitute professor for the didactics of material teaching at the Technical University of Dresden from 1994 to 1995 . 1996 habilitation they are in Würzburg with the work of the primary school in the era of National Socialism: an examination of the internal configuration of the lower four years of the primary school on the basis of official measures .

In 1995 Götz received the professorship for school education with a focus on elementary school at the Karlsruhe University of Education . In April 1998 she accepted a call to the chair for elementary school pedagogy and elementary school didactics at the University of Würzburg. She stayed there until the 2016/2017 winter semester, after which she retired . From 2009 to 2012 she held the office of Vice President of the University in Würzburg.

Götz was appointed to the University Council of the University of Erfurt in 2018 and has been a member of the newly constituted University Council there since 2019, of which she was elected chair.

Götz received the Bavarian Order of Merit in 2015 and the Bene Merenti Gold Medal from the University of Würzburg in 2018 .
