Margarete Wietholz

Margarete Wietholz , married Bettac (born August 16, 1869 in Neurese , Fürstenthum district ; † 1910 or September 16, 1916 in a Neuenhagen or Elsenau, Schlochau district ) was a German writer. Under the pseudonym Margarete Nerese, she wrote stories in Low German that take place in Pomerania .

Life and accomplishments

Margarete Wietholz was born on August 16, 1869 in Neurese in Western Pomerania as the daughter of a manor owner. She attended school in Kolberg . From 1901 to 1907 she lived in Friedenau near Berlin . In 1907 she married a manor owner Bettac and since then has lived on his estate in Elsenau in the Schlochau district.

From 1897 to 1903 she published several collections of stories in Low German under the pseudonym Margarete Nerese . Of that, Holt almost reached! Stories in Reuter's dialect three editions until 1919.

After the Second World War, Margarete Wietholz was rarely printed. In the anthology Pommersche Literatur published by Fritz Raeck in 1969 , she is represented with an abridged story. It was also included in the anthology Blag-Öschen un spökende Buern published in 2003 by Jürgen Grambow and Wolfgang Müns . Pomerania. A reading book II added.
