Margarita Gritskova

Margarita Gritskova ( Russian Маргарита Грицкова , Margarita Grizkowa ; born December 19, 1987 in Leningrad ) is a Russian opera and lied singer with a mezzo-soprano voice .

Life

She studied singing at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory with Irina Petrovna Bogacheva. The young artist won several international singing competitions. In 2008 she sang the title role in Georges Bizet's Carmen at the St. Petersburg Conservatory Theater of opera under the direction of Mariss Jansons . Engagements led Gritskova to the music stages of Tenerife, St. Moritz and Budapest. Since the 2010/11 season she has been part of the music theater ensemble of the German National Theater Weimar . There she shone as Carmen, Maddalena in Rigoletto , Ottone in The Coronation of Poppea , Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro , Bramante in Alcina , Olga in Eugene Onegin , Flora in La traviata .

In the 2012/13 season the singer moved to the Vienna State Opera . Here she sang the following roles, among others: Dorabella in Così fan tutte , Sesto and Annio in La clemenza di Tito , Idamante in Idomeneo , Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro , Fjodor in Boris Godunow , Dryad in Ariadne auf Naxos , Smeton in Anna Bolena , Rosina in The Barber of Seville , Angelina and Tisbe in La Cenerentola , Isabella in L'italiana in Algeri , Mascha in Tri sestri , Krista in Věc Makropulos and most recently the title role in Carmen .

In 2015 she made her debut as Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro at the Summer Festival in Salzburg . She also appeared at the Rossini Festivals in Bald Wildbad and Pesaro and in 2017 played the role of Isolier in Le comte Ory at the Klosterneuburg Opera . She also participated in numerous concerts in part, most recently in September 2017 at the farewell concert of José Carreras in the Carnegie Hall in New York .

  • 2010: Final participation in the international singing festival Operalia
