Margiris
Margiris († 1336 ) was the legendary prince of Lower Lithuania , defender of Pilėnai Castle . Wigand von Marburg describes the fighting in the Chronica nova Prutenica .
It is believed that Margiris could come from the family of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Butvydas (other names: Butivydas / Putavyras / Pukaveras, † 1291 or 1295 ). His brothers could be the Grand Duke Vytenis , Gediminas , Teodoras (Prince of Kijew ) and Vainius ( Prince of Polotsk ).
