The Margon-Haus is a high-rise office building in Dresden . It is located in Seevorstadt-West on Budapester Straße  5. The nine-storey building forms the end of the five-storey residential development after Dippoldiswalder Platz and is opposite the Centrum-Galerie .

The complex was established in 1966 under the urban development direction of the architect Hans Konrad designed by the architect Gerhard Müller and Hans-Georg Bedrich as an administrative building for the Economic Council of the district Dresden built. The construction was carried out using prefabricated parts in assembly construction. He received a curtain aluminum facade; the building gables were clad with exposed aggregate concrete slabs. There was space for 469 employees in the office building.

After the political change in the GDR, the building temporarily served as the Saxon Ministry of Economics . Today it is used as an office building by various companies.

The building got its current name from a neon sign for Margon water on the eastern gable . The installation was originally located on the partially completed ruins of the Hotel Excelsior on Prager Strasse and was attached to the new building after its demolition in 1967. It shows a half-full glass of sparkling water with the slogan drink Margon water - sparkling fresh . In 1998 it was placed under monument protection. During the renovation of the building from 1999 to 2002 by TLG Treuhand Liegenschaftsgesellschaft , the Saxon State Minister for Economics and Labor, Kajo Schommer, campaigned for the preservation of the advertising.
