Margot Gloede

Margot Gloede - married Heidel - (* 1919 ) is a German table tennis player . She took part in the 1959 World Cup.

Career

Gloede first played at VfB Mühlburg and in the early 1950s at ESG Karlsruhe. She later belonged to the clubs TSG Heidelberg (after 1954 and around 1959), TV Waldhof Mannheim (until 1961), TSG 78 Heidelberg (1961–1962), Freiburg FC (1962–1964) and SSV Freiburg (1964–1974).

Between 1950 and 1962 Gloede was Baden champion ten times in singles, twelve times in doubles and four times in mixed. In 1953 she won the individual at the Swiss International Championship. On March 27, 1954, she played an official international match against France in Koblenz, the first Franco-German international match after the Second World War . She defeated Claude Rougagnou and lost the doubles and singles to Christiane Watel . In the DTTB rankings she was ranked 6th in 1954. In 1956 she was second at the National German Championship in doubles with Gisela Fersching.

In 1959 she was nominated for the individual competitions of the World Cup in Dortmund, where she competed under the name Heidel . Here she defeated Alicia Guri (Spain) in the individual and was eliminated in the second round against Sárolta Máthé (Hungary). In doubles with Dagmar Katerbau , she lost in the first round against Kathleen Best / Pamela Mortimer (England).

With the women's team of SSV Freiburg, she reached the final of the ETTU Cup in 1965/66 .

Private

Gloede married around 1957 and then went under the name Margot Heidel . Her son Wolfgang Gloede was later a well-known table tennis player in the Freiburg area.
