Margrethe Renstrøm (born March 21, 1985 in Søgne ) is a Norwegian athlete . She specializes in the long jump . At a height of 1.79 m, her competition weight is 60 kg.

Life

Margrethe Renstrøm grew up in Søgne , near Kristiansand . Her club there was Søgne IL ; there she was trained by her mother, Reidun Renstrøm. In 2005 she moved to IK Tjalve , an athletics club from Oslo . Margrethe Renstrøm works as a physiotherapist at the University of Oslo .

successes

She won the Norwegian women's long jump championship six times: 2002 (6.08 m), 2003 (6.26 m), 2005 (6.11 m), 2007 (6.33 m), 2008 (6.33 m) and 2009 (6.64 m). At the Norwegian indoor championship in long jump she was second with 5.86 m in 2006, in 2009 she won with 6.08 m. In the triple jump she won after a third place in 2005 with 12.84 m, the Norwegian women's championship in 2006 with 13.25 m and 2007 with 12.84 m. She won the Norwegian indoor championship for women in the triple jump in 2005 with 12.71 m.

She had her first major international success in the long jump at the European Youth Olympic Festival 2001 in Murcia , where she won the gold medal with 6.15 m. Her 6.64 m at the Norwegian Championship in Lillehammer in 2009 was a Norwegian record, which made her the longest unbroken record in Norwegian athletics at the time. It was previously 6.56 m by Berit Berthelsen from 1968. At the 2010 European Championships in Barcelona , she improved her Norwegian record in qualifying with 6.68 m, but only finished 13th in the final with 6.18 m. Space. At the European Championships in Helsinki in 2012 , she received a bronze medal for her jump of 6.67 m.
