Marguerite Monnot
Marguerite Monnot (born May 28, 1903 in Decize , Département Nièvre , † October 12, 1961 in Paris ) was a French composer and concert pianist.
Monnot began her career at the age of three and studied at the Paris Conservatory when she was 16 . At the age of 22 she turned to chanson . With Raymond Asso she realized Mon légionnaire and Le Fanion de la Légion in 1936 . She worked with Édith Piaf , for whom she composed great successes such as Milord and Hymne à l'amour . With the musical Irma la Douce , she was able to further expand her international reputation.
