Marià Perelló i Fiol

Marià Perelló i Fiol (* 1886 in Barcelona ; † November 26, 1960 there ) was a Catalan violinist and music teacher .

life and work

Perelló studied in Barcelona with Bonaventura Pla at the Escola Municipal de Música and completed in-depth studies with Mathieu Crickboom at the Acadèmia de la Societat Filharmònica de Barcelona .

In 1901 he first appeared publicly in a concert by the Societat Filharmònica de Barcelona . When Crickboom went back to Brussels in 1905, Perelló accompanied him and became a member of his quintet. In 1904 he made his debut as an orchestral soloist in Brussels. Later he played the first violin in the Ysaÿe orchestra . In 1908 he founded a string quartet in Barcelona. In 1911 he helped found the Trio de Barcelona (1911) with the pianist Ricard Vives and the cellist J. Pere Marés . He was also a member of the Granados double quintet .

After returning to Barcelona, ​​Perelló worked as a professor of violin at the Acadèmia Marshall and at the Conservatori del Liceu .

He sponsored the Lliga d'Associacions de Música de Catalunya (League of Music Associations of Catalonia) and the Da Camera musicians' association . Marià Perelló was one of the outstanding musical personalities of his time in Barcelona. He himself wrote some compositions for voice and piano, impressions and a score for chamber trio.
