Sanchōme no Tama: Uchi no Tama Shirimasenka? ( jap. 3 丁目 の タ マ う ち の タ マ 知 り ま せ ん か? ) is a series of animes that started in 1988 with an original video animation that was followed by several television series. Several video games also appeared. The latest of the television series has also been internationally named Uchitama ?! Have you seen my Tama? released. The stories revolve around a group of cats and dogs in the third block of a large Japanese city.
content
The short stories tell about the everyday life of the Hudne and cats in the third block from the perspective of the pets. The focus is often on the house cat Tama, an adventurous young tom who easily gets lost. He is often accompanied by the anxious dog Pochi, who lives in a tofu shop and is known for recognizing types of tofu by their taste. They often meet the impetuous young tomcat Tora, the postman's cat Beh, the cat Koma and the stray Nora. In addition, they often visit a local café with their masters, whose cat Momo is a little celebrity. Many tomcats are also in love with her. In addition to Pochi, there is also the relaxed dog Gon and the sporty police dog Kuro in the apartment block. The bulldog Bull is new to the area , but initially appears very aggressive and first has to make friends with the other animals.
Anime productions
The first part of the series was directed by Tsuneo Maeda at Studio Group TAC . the seven episodes were released as original video animation from 1988 to 1990 . For 1993 the production of a series for Japanese television followed, at the beginning of which the episodes of the OVA were shown again. The production was started by the OVA team, from the third episode Yūji Mutō took over as director. The main author was So Toyama . The character design was created by Rie Ooshima and Ryôichi Shimada , the artistic director was Manami Matsumoto . The anime aired in Japan from July 3 to August 28, 1993 on MBS and TBS . The series was later also broadcast in France, Brazil, the United States, Canada, Italy and the Arab world.
In August 1993, a 43-minute film relating to the series was also released in Japanese cinemas. In the production titled San-chōme no Tama: Onegai! Momo-chan o Sagashite !! ( 3 丁目 の タ マ: お ね が い! モ モ ち ゃ ん を 捜 し て !! ) directed by Hitoshi Nanba and written by Masumi Hirayanagi .
In 2006, a new television series followed with 26 episodes, which was a Japanese-Korean co-production at Group TAC and Dongwoo Animation . Directed by Jong-Sik Nam and written by Kyo Kogure and Sōichi Masui . The character design was created by Sachiko Oohashi and the artistic direction was by Maki Morio . The anime aired May 6 through November 4, 2006 on Animax , Sun Television, and Tokyo MX .
On October 1, 2016, a remake of the first series started in the form of 5-minute episodes on Asahi Broadcasting , Chukyo TV , Tokyo MX and TV-U Yamagata . It was made under the direction of Jun Kanzaki at Kachidoki Studio . Hiroshi Izawa wrote the scripts . Another series was then created for 2020 at Studio MAPPA . Directed by Kiyoshi Matsuda and lead author was Kimiko Ueno . The character design is by Mai Otsuka and the artistic direction was atsushi Morikawa . Responsible producer was Kyōko Uryū . The anime has aired on Fuji TV since January 9, 2020 . It is published internationally via streaming, in particular via the Wakanim platform with German subtitles.

The music of the first series and OVA is by Norihiro Tsuru and Etsuko Yamakawa . The associated preambles are Ai wa genki desu ( 愛 は 元 気 で す ) and Genki da shite yo ( 元 気 だ し て よ ). For the 2006 series, Ryo Ogura composed the score, and the song We Are was used for the opening credits . by PawPaw. The credits were underlaid with Kimi to no Miraizu ( 君 と の 未来 図 ) by PawPaw.
Kimiyoshi Maruyama composed the music for the 2016 series. In 2020, Tom-H @ ck was ultimately responsible for the music. The corresponding opening credits are Friends by wacci and the credits are Hidamari o Sagashite by Sōma Saitō.
