Church of the Assumption of Our Lady (Donji Vrbljani)
The Dormition Church ( Serbo-Croatian : Црква Успења Пресвете Богородице / Crkva Uspenja Presvete Bogorodice) in Donji Vrbljani , a village in the Opština Ribnik is a Serbian Orthodox Church in Bosnian and Herzegovina .
The church, built from 1937 to 1939, belongs to the Bihać - Petrovac eparchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The church is consecrated to the asleep of All Saints Mother of God .

The church stands in the center of the village of Donji Vrbljani, which has around 900 inhabitants, in Opština Ribnik in northwestern Bosnia. The Opština Ribnik is located in the Republika Srpska , the predominantly Serbian part of Bosnia and Herzegovina .
Next to the church there is a memorial to the soldiers who fell in the village in the Bosnian War, which lasted from 1992 to 1995 . The source of the Sana River is in the village .
history
In the village there were three wooden churches in front of today's church. The last of the three wooden churches was built in 1901 on the site of the second ruined wooden church and had the same patronage as today's church.
Before the Second World War , at the time of priest Veljko Babić , the current church building was built from solid stone from 1937 to 1939. The church was damaged in the Second World War. From 1968 to 1969 at the time of Eparchen Andrej von Banja Luka , the church was partially renovated.
The church was also damaged in the Bosnian War. From 1998 to 2006 the church was extensively renovated. And on July 13, 2008 the church was consecrated anew by the then Eparchen von Bihać-Petrovac Chrysostomos.
The church is built in the Serbian-Byzantine style and has a single nave. The facade of the church is kept simple in white. The church has an iconostasis with icons, which is typical for Orthodox churches . Some of the icons come from the Metropolitan of Dabrobosnia Sava Kosanović (1839–1903) and date from 1872 to 1875.
