architecture

The neo-Gothic brick building is located in Heiligenpesch east of the road leading from Wolfsittard to Hehn. It forms an ensemble with the neighboring rectory , the Chapel of Grace , the grotto and the monastery opposite .

It is a single-nave, neo-Gothic church building from 1851/53 with expansion in 1889/90 and an octagon with adjoining front yoke and five-eighth choir closure. A single-storey sacristy annex is added to the north of the choir .

Lady Chapel

The Marienkapelle in front of the church, which takes up the center piece of the church building, marks the point at which the Hehner Marian veneration began in the middle of the 16th century.

The interior of the chapel is characterized by a wooden statue of Our Lady, seven stained glass windows that tell biblical stories, and above all by the testimonies of numerous pilgrims who drew strength and courage here in worries and questions.
