Assumption of Mary (Törwang)
The parish church of the Assumption of Mary is a Roman Catholic church in the village of Törwang in the municipality of Samerberg in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim .
architecture
The tower of the church is older than the choir from 1513. The sacristy from 1693 was rebuilt in 1875. The nave was rebuilt in 1923 with a northern porch. The hall has a heavily drawn-in old choir with a triangular closure. The north tower has a pointed helmet. The nave has a flattened barrel vault over wall templates with pieces of entablature. The choir is vaulted with a needle cap barrel on neo-Gothic consoles. Sebastian Hausinger (1924) painted the figurative and ornamental room decoration of the church with the theme of Maria Trost and the All Souls Brotherhood .
Furnishing
The high altar of 1642 was 1,729 of Neubeuern acquired. The high altar shows the altar sheet of the Assumption by the painter Georg Lagler (1832) and bears the figures of hll. Joachim and Anna . In the choir there is a bas-relief of St. Valentin around 1515 and a former side altarpiece St. Joseph around 1780. The south side altar from 1766/67 shows a late Gothic panel painting of the Crucifixion of Christ and the Thieves around 1460/1470 and the excerpt of St. Sebastian probably by Joseph Anton Höttinger (1767) and carries the figures hll. Fabian and Rochus. The north side altar from 1923 bears the figures of hll. Augustine and Monika by Joseph Anton Fröhlich (1766). There are popular paintings on the harmfulness of chatting in church and the blessing effect of holy water around 1775. The baptismal font is labeled CD-1628 .
