Maria Einsiedeln Chapel in Dettenschwang

The Catholic chapel Maria Einsiedeln in Dettenschwang , a district of the market town of Dießen am Ammersee in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech , was built in 1708 and enlarged in 1841. The chapel at Schmiedstrasse 34, in an open position west of the village, is one of the protected architectural monuments in Bavaria.

description

Archaeological finds indicate a medieval or early modern predecessor building.

The saddle roof building with retracted, semicircular choir has a mighty roof turret with an octagonal structure and a pointed roof. The interior is barrel vaulted . The original furnishings , including the miraculous image of Our Lady from 1748, have been lost.

The chapel was renovated inside and out in the early 1980s.
