Maria Estreicherówna

Maria Estreicherówna (born December 18, 1876 in Cracow , † October 11, 1966 there ) - was a Polish teacher, writer and translator.

She came from the Estreicher family of professors in Krakow , was the daughter of Karol Estreicher (the elder) and sister of Tadeusz and Stanisław Estreicher .

Maria Estreicherówna was one of the first Polish women to receive a doctorate in philosophy and English. She wrote historical works such as Życie towarzyskie i obyczajowe Krakowa w latach 1848–1863 (The social and moral life of Kraków 1848–1863). She also translated numerous English poetry into Polish.
