history

Initially, the Catholic chapel at the Timke barracks, located in the neighboring town of Westertimke , about three kilometers away , was also used for church services by the civil parish. The chapel already bore the patronage of Maria Queen and has since been demolished. The stained glass windows of the chapel were reused in the new Tarmstedt church. Today the Timke-Park industrial estate is located on the site of the barracks closed in 1993/94.

In 1977 the foundation stone was laid for the church in Tarmstedt, and on April 8, 1978, Auxiliary Bishop Heinrich Pachowiak gave her benediction .

The last service took place in the church on September 25, 1996. After the profanation , the church building was sold to private customers and is now used as an apartment and studio.

Architecture and equipment

The church, built as a prefabricated church, was located almost 27 meters above sea level , it had a free-standing pointed tower, which was crowned by a cross.
