Maria Krysztofiak-Kaszyńska

Maria Krysztofiak-Kaszyńska (* 1946 in Poznan ) is a Polish translation scholar and translator . She has been a professor at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan since 1997 . Her research focus is translation studies from a literary and cultural studies perspective.

Maria Krysztofiak-Kaszyńska received her doctorate in 1978 on the subject: “The novel as a diagnosis of society. Individual and society in the novels of the Danish writer Klaus Rifbjerg ”. In 1986 she completed her habilitation on the topic of the occupation time in contemporary Danish novels. Since 1997 she has been a full professor at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. She is head of the seminar for comparative literature and theory of literary translation at the Institute for German Studies at the University of Poznan. Her main research interests are literary translation, general and comparative literature , German literature and the history of Scandinavian literature . She teaches translation , comparative literature , modern German literature and Nordic and Dutch studies .
