Maria Laura da Rocha (born September 26, 1955 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Maria Laura da Rocha is the daughter of Laura Matins da Rocha and Arthur Veríssimo da Rocha. From June 1, 1979, she headed the Serviço de Cadastro e Lotação des Itamaraty . From December 1, 1979 she was chargé d'affaires of the Brazilian consulate in Berlin . On November 20, 1980, she was appointed second class legation secretary. From March 10, 1981, she was second class legation secretary in Rome . On June 15, 1982, she completed the Curso de Aperfeiçoamento de Diplomatas . From June 28, 1985, she was second class delegation secretary in Moscow , where she was promoted to first class delegation secretary on December 17, 1987.

On August 1, 1991, she was assigned to the Presidential Administration. From July 23, 1992 she coordinated the office of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. From December 23, 1992, she was first class delegation secretary in Rome. From May 3, 1995, she headed Fernando Henrique Cardoso's office .

On June 16, 2000 she presented the study Tecnologia e Defesa: O Itamaraty ea Captação Internacional de Tecnologia Sensível para o Setor Aeroespacial as part of the Curso Altos Estudios .

From September 23, 2008, she headed the office of Celso Amorim . Since 2010 she has represented the Brazilian government at UNESCO in Paris .
