Maria Leopoldine Klausberger
Maria Leopoldine Klausberger (born December 2, 1888 in Oberhollabrunn , † January 21, 1944 in Vienna ) was an Austrian journalist and women's rights activist .
Live and act
Maria Leopoldine Klausberger, daughter of a senior teacher, attended the girls' college and then, as an extraordinary student, attended legal lectures at the University of Vienna .
She began her career as a journalist on the editorial staff of the specialist newspaper Der Österreichische Volkswirt, founded in 1908 . In 1934 Klausberger became the publisher and owner of the publishing house of the Österreichischen Volkswirtes , which she ran until 1938. She followed Karoline Gronemann as chairwoman of the Association of Working Women and was Vice-President of the Central Office for Female Careers Advice, founded in 1916.
During the transition from war production to the peace economy after the First World War, she acted as chairwoman of a commission of the Federation of Austrian Women's Associations a . a. in the Ministry of Social Affairs against the displacement of female industrial workers. With regard to the women's suffrage , introduced in 1919 , Klausberger also devoted himself to the civic education of Austrian women.
