Maria Rodrigues

Maria Cristina Bernardo Vaqueiro Rodrigues (born June 4, 1971 ) is a former Brazilian long-distance runner . She won three gold medals at the South American Athletics Championships . In 2001 she won doubles in the 5,000m and 10,000m and then kept her 5,000m title at the 2003 championships .

Rodrigues represented Brazil twice at the IAAF World Championships in Cross Country ( 1999 and 2000 ) and in 2006 took part in the IAAF World Championships in Road Running. She also won international medals at the Ibero-American Athletics Championships (10,000m bronze in 2000) and the South American Cross-Country Championships (silver in 1999).

In 2003 she was the Brazilian 5000 m champion.
