The Holy Trinity Church in Landeshut in Silesia (Polish: Kamienna Góra , Powiat Kamiennogórski , Lower Silesian Voivodeship ) was created as one of the six Protestant Silesian grace churches built as a result of the Altranstadt Convention .

history

The church was built from 1709 to 1720 based on a design by the Tallinn architect Martin Frantz , who is based in Liegnitz, based on the model of St. Catherine's Church in Stockholm . The foundation stone was laid on June 6, 1709. In 1717 the church received its bell. The church was consecrated on October 8, 1720.

The church, which was undamaged during the Second World War , was initially unused after 1945. In the years 1959–1964 a large part of the equipment was dismantled and brought to Warsaw, where it was used to rebuild the garrison church on Krasiński Square . At that time the church lost the high altar , the baptismal font, the organ, the pulpit, the chandeliers and the bells. The second gallery was removed. The church was given to the Polish Catholic Church and has served as the Catholic Parish Church of St. Mary Rosary ( Kościół Matki Boskiej Różańcowej ) since March 1, 1972 . The church library has been in the collections of the Warsaw University Library since 1949 .

architecture

The church was built on the plan of an equal-armed Greek cross . A lower sacristy was added behind the high altar, and the bell tower with an onion roof and a halo rises above the entrance . Sheet metal mansard roofs were erected over the arms of the cross . The facades are flanked by pilasters in which boss stones of various sizes have been walled in at irregular intervals . The side facades are crowned with triangular tympana . The high church windows are rounded at the top.

The interior is equipped with wooden galleries , the upper one of which was removed in the post-war years . In 1724 the Wroclaw master Ignatius Mentzel installed the organ above the entrance, in 1725 the altar was built by Benjamin Gottlieb from Lauban .

The church was registered on March 5, 1956 under the number A / 5502/310 in the register of architectural monuments of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
