history

The new parish church around 1900

On the basis of an expert opinion on the structural condition of the old parish church , a commission decided on July 18, 1888 that a new building was necessary. The costs for the restoration of the old parish church would have been higher than for the construction of a new church.

On October 1, 1888, the parish received Bishop Franz Bernert's approval for the new building. Furthermore, it was thanks to the Protestant patron saint and manor owner of Radibor, Count von Einsiedel, that a piece of land was made available in 1890/91. It could be enlarged by purchasing another piece of land. This is noteworthy, as previous manor owners wanted to enforce the evangelical faith. The foundation stone for the church was laid on August 2, 1895. Construction work according to plans by the architect Joseph Campani began in the summer of 1894 and ended with the consecration of the church by Bishop Ludwig Wahl on November 15, 1896.

In 1996 the 100th anniversary was celebrated.

The neo-Romanesque church consecrated to the Queen of the Rosary is an east - facing three-aisled basilica with a retracted choir and a representative portal front, which is flanked on the north side by a square bell tower. The church is built from exposed stone . The outer walls are structured with arched friezes and pilaster strips .

The interior was restored to the original in 1988/90. In addition to the high altar and the pulpit, the ciborium and the painted choir arch as well as various statues of saints are particularly impressive .
