Maria Schneider (vibraphonist)

Maria Schneider (* 1983 near Hanover ) is a German percussionist , especially a vibraphonist and marimba player .

Schneider's parents and two older sisters are percussionists and from an early age a wide variety of instruments were part of their toys. She started taking piano lessons at the age of five. The drums followed at seven and the marimba was added a little later. After finishing school, Schneider attended the vocational school for music in the Middle Franconia district in Dinkelsbühl and later continued her training at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin , where she graduated as a qualified orchestra musician. In addition to her studies, she played in various bands, initially with Strom & Wasser . Since 2009 she has been a member of the Trio Bravo . She also played with the world music ensemble Balagan and since 2014 with the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra . She performed with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra , the Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover . She is also currently (2015) playing with Per Anders , Ambrassador , Venusbrass and in Marc Sinans Tonspuren 2015 . She has worked in various theater productions, including at the Schaubühne in Berlin and the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin , as well as in radio play productions such as Tepegöz .
