Mariahilfkapelle

The Mariahilfkapelle is a Roman Catholic chapel in Unterrüti, a hamlet in the municipality of Merenschwand in the canton of Aargau .

The year of construction of the previous building is not known. In 1868 it was replaced by today's somewhat larger building. The furnishings initially included three neo-Gothic altar structures, which were removed in 1955. In 1999 the parish of Merenschwand took over the chapel after it had previously been privately owned. It is used on Corpus Christi , for May devotions as well as for weddings and baptisms.

The easted chapel stands a little off the main road on a flat step over the Reuss valley . It consists of a two-axis nave and a single-axis choir . A roof turret rises above the ridge of the gable roof . In the interior, fluted pilasters frame the pointed arch windows . While the nave is flat, the choir, separated by a choir arch , has a mirror vault . One end of the 16th century by Heinrich Dieffolt from Feldkirch created relief Schutzmantelmadonna adorns the altar. In the side niches are statues of Saints Agatha and Joachim from the 17th century.
