Marialis cultus

The Apostolic Exhortation Marialis Cultus of Pope Paul VI. deals with "the correct cultivation and development of Marian devotion" and dates from February 2, 1974. The three main parts deal with Marian devotion in the liturgy , the renewal of Marian devotion and references to pious exercises (such as the rosary and the angel of the Lord ).

Among other things, Pope Paul VI writes. in No. 57 that Christ is the only way to the Father (cf. Jn 14: 4–11  EU ), but the Church, guided by the Holy Spirit and through centuries of experience, teaches “that the veneration of the Blessed Virgin, the is subordinate to and associated with devotion to the Divine Redeemer, has a great pastoral activity and is a power capable of renewing Christian morals ”. The multifaceted mission of Mary in the people of God is "a reality that is supernaturally effective and fruitful in the ecclesiastical organism".
