Mariana Kotzeva (born March 12, 1967 ) is a Bulgarian EU civil servant and has been Director General of the European statistical agency Eurostat since March 2018 .

Mariana Kotzeva studied economics at the University of Sofia from 1985 to 1990 with a master’s degree , where she received her doctorate in 1995 with a focus on business statistics .

She headed the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute from 2008 to 2012. She then moved to Eurostat, where she was deputy head of the authority from July 2014. From 2017 she was the managing director.
