from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marianne Elisabeth Felicitas Alfermann (born June 8, 1891 in Berlin ; † February 27, 1954 in Graefelfing ) was a German actress and opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Marianne came to the Stadttheater Main in 1910 after taking acting lessons and completing a vocal training course in soprano. In December 1911 she had a guest performance at the Berlin Court Opera and so she left Mainz in 1912 and was a member of the ensemble there until 1917. From 1917 to 1918 she then worked in Frankfurt am Main.

After that she lived in Berlin from 1918 and works from there as a guest, but at that time she was already turning increasingly to operetta.

In the 1920s she continued her career on various Berlin theaters as well as in the recently opened entertainment radio at the Berliner Funkstunde .

In March 1922 she married Gustav Lombard , who later became the SS-Brigadefuhrer and Major General of the Waffen-SS, from whom she had a son that same year.

In 1926 she played the leading role in Hugo Hirsch's revue “Wieder Metropol”. In 1927/28 it was still part of the operetta of the Berlin Central Theater. The stage yearbook 1934 noted “guested” at their Berlin address.

According to a marginal note in her entry in the Berlin birth register, Alfermann died in February 1954 in Graefelfing, Bavaria.

Marianne Alfermann made records in the 1920s, as a soloist and in a duet with Richard Bitterauf , Hans-Heinz Bollmann , Leopold Hainisch and Erik Wirl for the labels Vox and Homocord .

  6. ^ The operetta "Der Orlow" came out on April 3, 1925 in Vienna at the Theater an der Wien. If one compares the publication dates of the other recordings from this operetta by Vox, the recording is likely to have been made some time later, perhaps in autumn 1925. A year later, Alfermann made another recording at Vox (VOX 02210 30 cm (mx. 1555-AA) "Like a rush of flowers in May") with the Romanian violinist Georges Boulanger ( actually Ghita Bulencea ), but now with his name
