Marianne Lang

Marianne Lang , née Marianne Boudet or Marianne Poudet , ( 1764 in Mannheim - August 1835 in Vienna ) was a German theater actress , opera singer ( soprano ) and acting teacher.

Life

Long, the daughter of the dancer Jacob Boudet , was developed by Theobald Marchand discovered and trained, entered already in 1777 the stage of the newly founded German court theater of their own country, and came in the same year to the Court Theater in Munich, where they are in 1782 with the court musician Martin Lang married (Her daughter Margarethe married the theater director Carl ) and remained an extremely popular member of this art institute until her retirement in 1821.

She acted primarily as a tragic lover, but later moved into the chaperone department. It is worth mentioning that she played “The Queen” in Don Carlos on June 7, 1802, and “Die Bertha” in Tell on September 11, 1806, at the premiere of these classical works in Munich. After her retirement, she continued to train young talents and moved to Vienna in 1828, where she also died in August 1835.

Her siblings were the two opera singers (soprano) Sophie Müller (before 1765 – after 1797) and Manon Müller-Boudet (1765–1824). In addition to her daughter Margarethe, she was also the mother of the violinist Theobald Lang (1783–1839), the bassoonist Franz Xaver Lang (1791–1862) and the actress Josefa Lang (1791–1862). She was the mother-in-law of Carl Carl through Margarethe and of Karl Flerx through Josefa .
