Marianne Kappeler
Marianne Kappeler (born May 1, 1905 in Frauenfeld , † June 23, 1994 in Basel ; resident in Frauenfeld) was a Swiss theologian and pastor from the canton of Basel-Stadt .
Life
Marianne Kappeler was a daughter of Otto Kappeler, a businessman , and Maria Stierlin. After graduation in 1925 in Frauenfeld studied Kappeler in Basel, Tübingen and Berlin theology . After a vicariate in 1929, she worked as a parish assistant in Zollikon . In 1944 she was appointed to the Leonhard congregation in Basel. There she fought for full parish office . She held it from 1960 to 1969. In 1965 she took over the presidency of the Swiss Association of Women theologians. Kappeler was a member of the German- Swiss Christian Association of Young Women (CVJF). In 1940 she held its presidium. The experiences she made in the girls' association work led her to develop community work ( amateur theater ) and work with women.
