Career

Mair contested her first FIS races in November 2004 and achieved good placings from the start. Already on January 20, 2005, she had her first appearance in the European Cup , but could not qualify for the second round in the Lenggries slalom . A week later she reached seventh place in slalom and tenth place in giant slalom at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival .

After a cruciate ligament rupture in December 2005, Mair had to end the season early. The next year she tore her cruciate ligament again and could not contest any races during the entire winter of 2006/07. In the 2007/08 season she returned to racing and achieved her first top 10 results in the European Cup at the end of November, but on January 21, 2008 she fell in downhill training in St. Moritz and suffered a cruciate ligament rupture for the third time. In the European Cup season 2008/09 she was successful right from the start and reached her first podium in the second race of the season, the indoor competition in the alpincenter Bottrop . This was followed by two more podium places in slalom and several placements among the top ten, with which she won the discipline classification in slalom.

After her success in the European Cup, Mair started on December 14th, 2008 in the slalom of La Molina for the first time in the World Cup . On January 4, 2009, she took the first points in the slalom in Zagreb with 24th place. Shortly afterwards, she finished 16th in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen slalom . In March 2009 she started at the Junior World Championships and reached fifth place in slalom.

On November 29, 2009, Mair drove in the slalom of Aspen with twelfth place to her best World Cup result. After another cruciate ligament tear, which she suffered on January 16, 2010 while training for the slalom in Maribor , she had to end the season prematurely. In December 2010 she made her comeback and initially competed in FIS and European Cup races. In January 2011, however, she injured herself again during training and tore the fifth cruciate ligament. Due to her numerous injuries, she announced her resignation in May 2011.
