Marianne Menze

Marianne Menze (* 1949 in Bochum ) is a German cinema operator . As managing director of Essener Filmkunsttheater GmbH, she runs several cinemas in Essen and Mülheim an der Ruhr , including the Lichtburg and the Glückauf film studio .

Life

Marianne Menze initially trained as a sports teacher and was employed at school from 1970 to 1990. Since 1972 she was also employed by the Hanns-Peter Hüster film theater company . Since 1990 she has worked there exclusively in a managerial position. In 1998 she took over the management of the Essener Filmkunsttheater GmbH.

Through their work, Menze and her husband Hüster saved both the Glückauf film studio , the oldest film theater in the Ruhr area, and the Lichtburg from imminent closure.

She has received several awards for her work, including the Federal Cross of Merit .
