biography
Marie-Hélène Dupard was born in Paris , where she studied pharmacy and piano . After singing in the Stéphane Caillat vocal group in Paris for several years, she joined the Ensemble vocal de Lausanne , directed by Michel Corboz . She was his assistant for three years. She then studied singing at the Lausanne Conservatory in the class of Juliette Bise. In 1978 she received a first prize and a concert diploma. She continued her education with personalities like René Jacobs and Hans Hotter .
At the end of the 1970s, Marie-Hélène Dupard succeeded Michel Corboz as Kapellmeister in the Notre-Dame du Valentin church (Lausanne) . Inspired by Dante Granato, the organist of this church, she founded the choir Ensemble féminin de musique vocale in 1977 in order to make known the rich repertoire of vocal music for female voices. Since 1993 she has conducted the Chœur de Glâne , a chamber choir based in Romont , which was renamed Ensemble In Praesenti in 2005 .
In addition to her work as a choir director, Marie-Hélène Dupard continued her career as a soloist. As an interpreter, she preferred oratorios and chamber music . She worked on several works by Swiss and French composers, such as B. Harawi by Olivier Messiaen for voice and piano. Some works were created for her by contemporary composers, such as Clair Obscur by Julien-François Zbinden about poems by five different female poets. He dedicated it to Marie-Hélène Dupard and the ensemble féminin on his 10th birthday. She has recorded various records, including motets for female voices by Dante Granato and pieces for voices and instruments, published in 1996 and 1998. In 2005 she sang as a soloist in the Eloge series , which was dedicated to the Swiss composer Bernard Reichel (1901-1992).
