Marie-Louise Pailleron (* 1872 ; † February 12, 1951 ) was a French writer, Romance writer and literary historian.
life and work
Marie-Louise Pailleron was the granddaughter of François Buloz (1803–1877), the founding editor of the Revue des Deux Mondes , and the daughter of Édouard Pailleron (1834–1899), a member of the Académie française . She researched the history of literature around her grandfather, published novels and worked as a femme de lettres. She inherited the Ronjoux Castle in La Motte-Servolex , where numerous writers visited in the 19th century, including George Sand .
Marie-Louise Pailleron was the mother of the writer Robert Bourget-Pailleron (* 1897–?).
In 1881 the American painter John Singer Sargent portrayed Marie-Louise together with her older brother Édouard Pailleron . The oil painting is now in the Des Moines Art Center in Des Moines , Iowa , USA.
