Marie Anneler (born April 21, 1854 in Neuhausen am Rheinfall ; † June 24, 1933 in Bern ; resident in Schaffhausen and Thun ) was a Swiss glass painter and writer .

life and work

Marie Anneler, née Beck, came from a Schaffhausen family of artists. In 1881 she married Franz Ludwig Anneler (* 1847). He was a book printer and manufacturer of book printing cylinders. The couple had four children. One of them was Hedwig Anneler and one son was the artist Karl (1886–1957).

Marie Anneler already worked as a glass painter for her cousins ​​in her youth. Your works are u. a. on display in the Bernisches Historisches Museum and in the Landesmuseum Zurich . She often visited her sister in Thuringia at Altenstein Castle , who worked there as a housekeeper for Georg von Sachsen-Meiningen .

Marie Anneler first wrote in magazines under her pseudonym "Hans Eck". On the advice of Joseph Victor Widmann , she later published her writings under her name in the magazine Garbe and Helvetia . For the SAFFA made them 74-year-old fire paintings .
