Marie Hüllenkremer

Marie Hüllenkremer (born March 14, 1943 in Eupen , Belgium ; † May 16, 2004 in Cologne ) was a German-Belgian journalist and cultural politician .

After studying German , Hüllenkremer became editor in the culture department of Aachener Nachrichten in 1967 . From 1970 to 1978 she worked there as head of the culture and weekend supplements editorial team. In 1979 she moved to the art magazine ART and in 1982 became a member of the culture department of the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger . Since 1985 she has headed the department together with Rainer Hartmann. In 1989 she moved to ZEITmagazin in a managerial position . In 1992 she returned to the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger as deputy editor-in-chief. On October 1st, 1998 she was elected head of culture for the city of Cologne. She held this office until her death.

Her grave is on the Melaten cemetery in Cologne (lit. O).

In 2006 a street in Cologne-Lövenich was named after her.
