Marie Kudeříková (born March 24, 1921 in Vnorovy , † March 26, 1943 in Wroclaw ) was a Czech student and activist of the Czechoslovak anti-fascist resistance.

Life

Marie Kudeříková attended high school in Strážnice , Moravia , which was named after her in 1956 in her honor. After graduating from high school in 1940, she attended a language school in Veverská Bítýška . Here she began to take part in illegal resistance work, made contact with various youth organizations affiliated to the Communist Party and partly worked in their leadership bodies. Her activities consisted of copying and distributing illegal press products, but she was also involved in acts of sabotage.

On December 5, 1941, she was arrested and interrogated in Brno and Prague; on November 16, 1942, she was sentenced to death by the court in Breslau, and on March 26, 1943, she was guillotined .

Some of the inmates on death row helped her smuggle out a total of 32 sheets of paper and letters, which were published in an anthology in 1961.

Due to their affiliation with the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, their role was overestimated by the communist regime in Czechoslovakia.
