Marie Eleonor Serneholt (born July 11, 1983 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish singer . She was a member of the Swedish pop group A * Teens and began a solo career in 2006.

life and career

Marie Serneholt was born in Stockholm and wanted to be a pop star as a small child . As a member of the A * Teens, she sold over five million records worldwide.

After separating in 2004, Serneholt sought a solo career and recorded her first music album called Enjoy the Ride , which she released in Sweden in early 2006. Like the first single That's the Way My Heart Goes, it reached the top 10 of the Swedish charts. The single was also released in Germany and in spring 2006 was used by the ProSieben TV station as background music for the program trailer for the self-advertising campaign “WM for the Girls”. In February 2009 she took part in the Melodifestivalen , the Swedish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 , and was eliminated in the preliminary round. The song Disconnect Me was one of the four who were allowed to participate by wildcard.

In December 2011 Serneholt released the first single, Himlen I Min Famn, sung in Swedish under Warner Music Sweden . In 2012 she again took part in the Melodifestivalen with her song Salt & Pepper , but again failed to qualify for the final.

From 2008 to 2011 she had a relationship with the Swedish pop singer and winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 , Måns Zelmerlöw .
