Career
societies
Kuqi started his football career in his home country with FK Trepča before he emigrated with his family to Finland and continued his career there. He began his career in men's teams around 1994, when he first played for Mikkelin Kissat and turned out to be very dangerous. He came to HJK Helsinki in 1997 through Mikkelin Palloilijat . In 2000 he moved to Jokerit Helsinki , where he played from July to December 2000. In January 2001 he went to England to join Stockport County . In 2002 he came to Sheffield Wednesday . In 2003 he went to Ipswich Town . From the 2005/06 season, the striker played for the Blackburn Rovers . From August 2006, Kuqi was active at Crystal Palace , first in 2007 to Fulham FC and in 2008 to Ipswich Town. In 2009 he returned to Crystal Palace.
In July 2009 Kuqi signed a contract in Germany with TuS Koblenz until the end of the 2010/11 season. At the beginning of the season Kuqi knew how to convince and scored seven goals for TuS in the first half of the season. Due to many defeats and a tense relationship within the team, Shefki Kuqi requested a release for a move during the winter break. The new coach Petrik Sander , who had been signed shortly before, agreed to the plan no longer with Kuqi. Shefki Kuqi then signed in January 2010 a contract with the Welsh club Swansea City, which was then playing in the English Football League Championship . The contract has since been terminated after a loan to Derby County in January 2011. Kuqi then signed with Newcastle United in February 2011 . After only six appearances as a substitute, his contract, which expired in summer 2011, was not extended. In August 2011 he signed with third division Oldham Athletic . In the 2012/13 season he was under contract with Hibernian Edinburgh in Scotland and came there to 13 missions where he remained without a goal.
National team
Kuqi played for the Finnish national team from 1999 to 2010 .
