Mariela del Carmen Coronel (born June 20, 1981 in Santiago del Estero ) is an Argentine soccer player .
Career
In the club
The midfielder started her professional career in 2000 for Club Atlético Independiente . After the World Cup in 2003, she moved to San Lorenzo de Almagro. In three years with San Lorenzo de Almagro, she matured into a top player and in the summer of 2007 she moved to the Spanish first division club Prainsa Zaragoza. There she reached the final of the Copa de la Reina in 2009 at the Estadio de La Romareda . The team lost this final 5-1, but Coronel was able to score their team's only goal. Since the 2011 season she has been the captain and one of the most important players in Prainsa.
National team
Coronel played for the Argentine national soccer team .
For this she took part in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing . She previously took part in the two World Championships in 2003 and 2007.
Awards
In April 2007 she was nominated for the game of the "FIFA Women's World Stars" against the Chinese national soccer team for the women on the occasion of the group draw for the 2007 World Cup and used in the first half.
