Schlittenhart is a district of the town of Treuchtlingen in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen in Bavaria .

location

The village is ten kilometers west of Treuchtlingen on the western edge of the Hahnenkamm .

history

It was first mentioned in 1306 when Count Ulrich von Truhendingen sold the place called "Slitenhart" to the knight Konrad von Rechenberg. The name means "settlement to the (open pasture) forest, from which wood is removed on sledges". Since 1486 the hamlet has belonged to the Heidenheim Monastery and with it later the Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach . In 1824 98 people lived there in eight properties.

Until the regional reform in Bavaria , Schlittenhart was part of the former municipality of Auernheim . This was incorporated into Treuchtlingen on July 1, 1972.

traffic

The state road St 2216 leads through Schlittenhart from Treuchtlingen to Hechlingen , into which the district road WUG 33 from the south joins.
